Northumberland Village Halls Heritage Book
Here at Mindful Crafts & Gifts, we are delighted to be partnering with an important Northumberland Voluntary Sector Group in providing a host venue for their wonderful book in Hardback:
"The Heritage of Northumberland Village Halls" written by Carrie Brookes from Community Action Northumberland (CAN) based in the same building at Union Depot, Pegswood.
The Book celebrates the fascinating history of 150+ Village Halls in the County of Northumberland. It is the culmination of a partnership project by CAN and Northumberland Archives, together with 30 such Village Halls and was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The book features a Forward by the National Poet, Ian McMillan and includes his poem dedicated to Village Halls: "A Teapot as Big as the Moon"!
Why not stroll into our Mineful Crafts & Gifts to view this substantive book for yourself, though we strongly recommend this as a gift for friends or family also.
If unable to make it into the shop, please do not hesitate to purchase here, online and we'll deliver to you (within a 5 mile radius) or post it out to you.
This book will be an aesthetic addition to any bookshelf or home and is truly "a celebration of what Village Halls mean, and have always meant, to their communities".
